CH53 E Flying Santa

Christmas Parties...

This is my amazing husband.
I am so proud of him.
He is the "Bull" LT, which is why he is wearing the horns.
I guess it's suppose to be the oldest LT in the squadron or
something like that but I think they knew JB would set the
standard for whittyness (I think that's a word?) so they just chose him.
So here he is...Setting the standard for "Tacky Christmas Outfit."
He actually wore this to his squadron Christmas party.
Sadly enough I couldn't go and see all the other wive's reactions because
Payton is running a fever and very sick today.
So anyways...I'll have to update you on the outcome.
Those pj's actually have feet in them!
Here is the CH-53E that brought Santa to the family Christmas party this morning.

Day with Mommy while Daddy's at Work

"Mama? I found Daddy's hat and I miss him."
"How about we go and find him."
"Wake up General."
"We're gonna go find Daddy today."
"We're on our way."
"I don't see him yet though." "There he is!" "He's coming this direction!"
"He's getting closer!"
"He's getting even closer."
"Hurry, Mommy!"
"We have to get home before Daddy lands his helicopter and beats us."
"But first...I want to stop and see the fishes and the birdies!"
"I see the fishes!"
"I think all the birdies flew south for the winter."
"Okay, Mommy."
"I think it's time for me to take a nap."

Payton Meets Santa

Payton met Santa last Sunday and as usual...
He doesn't know a stranger!
He went right to him.
He also really loved "The Mrs."
The Marine Corps was nice enough to provide
a person to take pictures as well as a CD to take home with us for FREE.
Later on during the week they even gave away FREE Christmas trees. The Marine Corps truly does seem to take care of it's people!

New Camera

I just bought a new camera and I thought I'd share some of the great new photos we've taken. It has some neat features I've never used before so these are just experimental. I think they turned out really well. I especially like the fact that the shutter speed is much faster than my old camera making Payton's many expresssions much easier to capture! Enjoy!

Marine Corps and Payton's Birthday!

The past weekend has been busy. My mom flew into town and watched Payton while Jonathan and I drove to Myrtle Beach for the Marine Corps Birthday Ball. It was my first night away from Payton since he was born but I did well and it was nice staying at the Sheraton and not having to wake up with him in the morning (although we still woke up at 7:30). When we got back home we have 2 hours to prepare for his first birthday party (actually the first actual party was in Ohio last month). Payton and his friends had a great time, as did the parents :) Hope you enjoy!

He loved his cake! If you look closely you can even see his bottom teeth!

Trick or Treat

Jonathan and I took Payton and General "Trick or Treating" around the block with some friends. I only have these two pictures right now but I might have a few more to add this week. General dressed up as "Bat Dog" and Payton was our "Little Monkey" as usual. He enjoyed the suckers until Jonathan was carrying him on his shoulders and Payton threw up on his head. Then we got home and he threw up again. That little boy doesn't tolerate sugar at all. I guess he go this daddy's stomach. Hope you enjoy.

More October Pictures

Here a few of the pictures we've taken over the past few weeks. There are a bunch more under the winkflash link below. Hope you enjoy! I just made this flower arrangement last night for $10. I was so proud of myself!
Amber and all of her girls swinging at Huggy Bear Campground!
Payton dressed as a Monkey for Halloween. Isn't he the cutest up in his little tree?!
Kerstin, Sidney, and Payton enjoyed playing after trick or treating was finished!

Payton loved his first cake. We made him angel food with cream cheese frosting!

He received a ton of great gifts for his 1st Birthday. We had a party for him a little early in Ohio. He has another on in North Carolina on the 11th of November!

http://aprilnbryant.winkflash.com/ Payton and I recently flew to Ohio for 10 days while Jonathan was in Virginia doing some training. We had a great time and were able to see a ton of people we hadn't seen in a while! Payton enjoyed the fall including watching the trees blow in the wind at Mandy's house (one of his favorite things to do), trick or treating with his cousins at Huggy Bear, spending time with family, watching the rides at the Circleville Pumpkin Show, eating his first cake and frosting at Grandma and Grandpa's for his birthday party (a little early), and so on. We had a great time. Hope you enjoy the photos! -April

September Update

September has been a very busy month for our family. Jonathan flew back to Pensacola to see Payton and me over Labor Day weekend while I finished things up at work. I had my last day on September 6th! It was a great day for all of us. Not only am I looking forward to being home with Payton but I know it will be easier on Jonathan as well! As most of you know, Payton and I drove from Florida to Ohio on the 6th and 7th and spent a week with my family. Jonathan joined us on the 13th and stayed the weekend for my brother's wedding on the 15th. We had a blast. On the 16th we left Florida and headed to North Carolina, this time with Jonathan driving...much easier than driving with Payton by myself! We're now in Jacksonville, North Carolina at Marine Corps Air Station New River. I love it here. We're living in base housing, which is nice because there are a lot of wives who live close by and spend their days at home as well. The neighborhood is great and we live right next to a little stone road that leads back to the beach and a huge play ground. The weather is much milder here than in Pensacola and it actually feels a lot like FALL! It only took me two days to unpack and clean. Yesterday I even decorated for the fall. Jonathan loves having us here and especially missed all the yummy smells that come with living with a girl...shampoo to candles to clorox wipes! He is doing well, although he's been feeling a little "under the weather." Although it's been rainy today so I'm not sure how that compares :) He's spends a lot of his time doing his "ground job" or "collateral duty." I guess in the Marine Corps you only spend part of your actual work day flying. The other part you spend doing all the dirty work. Right now he's doing simulators (sims) again, preparing for the real thing in a new aircraft, the 53 Echo. I hope your enjoy all the pictures. I couldn't put them all on here so you'll have to click on the link to see the rest. We just have too many good ones from September! I'll be home again with Payton on October 10th through the 20th! Love you and can't wait! http://aprilnbryant.winkflash.com/
